Excel tools for finance teams
Reconcile exports from different systems, remove duplicate transaction rows, and standardize report formats before month-end close.
The problem
Month-end close usually means pulling exports from a bank, an ERP, and a payment processor, then manually lining them up in Excel. Duplicate rows and inconsistent date or currency formats are the most common source of reconciliation errors.
How it works
- Export transaction lists from each source system as .xlsx or .csv
- Merge them into one workbook, keeping each source as its own sheet or combined into one table
- Remove duplicate rows using the column that uniquely identifies a transaction (e.g. reference number)
- Standardize date and number formats so totals actually add up correctly
Before / After
Before: three exports, inconsistent date formats, unknown duplicate count
After: one workbook, standardized dates, duplicates flagged and removed with an exact count
What works today
- Merging multiple exports into one workbook (Merge Excel Files)
- Removing duplicate transaction rows by reference number (Remove Duplicates)
- Standardizing date formats across a whole sheet (Clean Excel Data)
- Comparing two versions of a reconciliation to see exactly what changed (Compare Excel Files)
What's on the roadmap
- Automatic bank statement PDF import (Bank Statement to Excel — blocked on a Workers AI vision license, not yet available)
- Saved reconciliation templates across months (RowMint Workspace, not built yet)
FAQ
Does this replace our accounting software?
No — RowMint cleans and reconciles spreadsheet exports before they go into your accounting system, it isn't a ledger itself.
Is our transaction data uploaded anywhere?
Merge, Remove Duplicates, Clean, and Compare all run entirely in your browser — your file is never uploaded.
